I've never seen "Outsniped", but my guess is:

  • AS placed the bid successfully, and you were the high bidder (for a few seconds).
  • Another snipe was placed which beat your snipe's proxy.
  • AS checked the auction after it was finished, and saw that you didn't win, but it knew that you had the high bid earlier.

"Bid Too Low" just means that by the time your snipe was placed, the item's next allowable bid (remembering bid increments) was higher than your snipe amount. I've gotten this as my most common "I didn't win" message.

Hope this helps.

This might help.

The following table has been reorganized and sorted into date order. First
bid placed is line #1. That should make it easier to follow the auction.
Two additional columns have been added. They are the current bid and high
bidder, as displayed on eBay after each bid is placed. v2.1.02
* = Winning bid. (may be less than actual max entered)

                  Max Current Winning

Interesting how theamcguy raised his OWN max at the end, bids prolly left manually -- may have thought geekline was going to counterbid. He got blindsided by ANOTHER sniper! Eek

Yeah, I am sure the seller is quite pleased with the turnout. However, I am not - I lost. Frown

But since they all wanted it so bad - they got to pay what it was worth. Those microfiches are probably about as rare as a three eyed cat.
