Ok...has anyone else had this problem? I win my first snipe. Cool, it worked exactly as it should've. BUT, now I've got a message from EBay claiming that they're suspending my account because they think a "3rd Party" may be illegally using my account. I check my account and there's nothing out of the ordinary. (No excess bids or auctions that I didn't create) Seems like Ebay is now ASSUMING that since I sniped an auction it MUST be fraudulent. What a crock!

Doc, where are you from & which eBay site do you use ? I'm concerned that eBay may be enforcing a rule that says you cannot let other people use your username & password (i.e. AuctionSniper). From reading the User Agreements on the UK site, it looks like you can't, but the US eBay does not have this rule. See my thread on this -

Dave Derrick, you're not actually letting another person use your user name and password. You're only making use of AS's software. It's you that's doing the bidding. Smile Unless you plan to bid on the German eBay site you should be OK.

The only caveat that I can think of is that there are a few sellers who are anti-sniper, and unless you turn off the option, they will probably receive a message telling them that you used AS.

If you don't want the seller to receive a notice from AS just click on the blue "my snipes" tab, go to "modify account," uncheck the instamail feature, then click on the "update my account information" button on the bottom.

Falcon Gal,
Yep...it was requesting that I send ALL my information, including: Name, address, phone number, Ebay ID, and password. Ofcourse I didn't actually send them anything. Sounded like a dumb idea, scam or no scam. Came from suspension@ebay.com
You received what Ebay calls "a SPOOF EMAIL"
not originating from Ebay. I receive them often as well as from Paypal.

My advice is to never reply, especiallay if the email asks you to click a link to
"confirm any info re: your account"

Instead, always forward these emails to: SPOOF@EBAY.COM you will receive an email back from Ebay telling you that what you received is know as a "SPOOF EMAIL" not originating from them. Same goes for emails you get from Paypal, always forward them to: SPOOF@PAYPAL.COM

NEVER ANSWER OR REPLY TO: Email from Ebay OR Paypal that asks you to click a link in the email to confirm anything!!! EVEN IF IT TELLS YOU YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE SUSPENDED!!! Instead.. forward the email/s to the SPOOF@ emails I gave you above. Cool
