Does AS offer a bidgroup to CONTINUE bidding in a group, rather than to STOP?

No. “Contingency”, or “reverse”, or “conditional” bid groups are not supported by AS. There have been several requests (just search the forum), but AS doesn’t feel there’s much demand for it. You might consider sending this request to: suggestions@auctionsniper.com

You never know – you might just be the request that causes them to add it.

This was offering on buyingmanager.com but nobody used it.

Since the software is already written, one would think it should require minimal effort to "re-introduce" the feature to another market (AS users) who have specifically requested it.

I have not only turned totally gray waiting for the contingency bid groups, but now I am feed for my two little snips.

I for one, did not want any part of the manager bit, but, I sure could use the bid group as part of AS. Again, again, again and again etc.etc.etc.....

I've lost count of the times Shop and I have pushed this barrow at AS.

Sara - what would it take for AS to consider it??

Not all those posts are references to bid groups, and some of those posts overlap. But, those links might provide an indication of the popularity of this feature.

Another comment I have about Sara’s statement that contingency bid groups weren’t popular on buyingmanager.com – that wasn’t a sniping service. For those placing snipes, auctions might be ending close together, or at inconvenient times, which prevents the user from monitoring their progress. This would tend to make the feature more popular among snipers than proxy bidders, because proxy bidders LOVE to have lots, and lots, and lots of time to see their proxy bids lose.

Contingency bid groups is one of the most requested enhancements to AS - although deleting advertising posts is right up there.



P.S. I’d suggest Shop get a commission every time someone new uses bid groups – she’s AS’ best promoter of this feature.
