I was bidding on a auction, the starting bid was $150 my max was $250. All of a sudden today I was out bid then the high bidder retracted so now the auction is at $248. The high bidder had a feedback of 7 and the first other bidder had a feedback of 0. The excuse for retracted was they entered the wrong number. I would believe that but they bid more then once. I think I was being shilled, if thats a word. There was only a day left and the seller was getting nervous I guess. Thats what I am doing here I don't want that to happen again!

Hello Kimmie,

I'm sorry to hear you had some trouble with bidding.

In order to better understand what happened during the auction in question, could you provide the eBay item number?

Thanks,

Steve

That sucks to here...so your saying that the seller might have bid up his own auction to raise the bid, then once it maxed out, they retracted the last bid?
If that's the case, eBay should investigate that...I'm sure it's a violation in their agreement. Some shady people selling out their.

I know of a couple of cases in the past where a seller has a partner to bid up a product. This is why I alway use AS in the bidding process because it minimizes this practice. I love this program and the process. AS has saved me dollars and time. AS helps with the bidding wars and spending more than I have should for an item. It takes a lot of the emotion out of the process. You decide how much an item is worth to you and walk away...perfect.

Or they could have been testing the max bid of the other bidder...

Why are you bothered - as a sniper you set your max and walk away!
