I lost out of an item yesterday because AS placed my bid 10 minutes early. I had a delay of 5 and it was placed way too soon. Somebody came in at the last moment and got the item. AS got me sniped! Your thoughts are appreciated as I do not know how this can happen.

Thanks Rick for the quick reply. Ebay does not close its doors during that time they state things may be slow or intermittent. AS should also stay open during their maintenance and offer its members a choice. They should let us decide if we want AS to try and place the bid at the time delay given or have it placed before SOME of their system goes down for maintenance. To go completely down for maintenance does not seem like a good business decision.

So would you rather things be slow and we snipe at 5 seconds and eBay is slow and your bid takes 10 seconds for them to enter, which means the auction will have already ended and your bid won't be entered.

Or would you rather have eBay be intermittent when we place your bid and them not even accept it at all?

eBay was completely down for 6+ years from 1-3am. Only recently have they been doing the slow and intermittent thing. They're a multi billion dollar company. We're not. We still have the need to do a weekly maintenance.

For ultimate control just manually place your snipe on items from 1am-3am Friday mornings.
