I was thinking this morning about the kinds of breakfast cereals that the States have compared to Australia and I remember thinking that the States seemed to have an enormous amount of sugar based cereals, where as over here, the majority of our cereals boast being Sugar Free!

Breakie (Breakfast) in our house consists of:
*Cereal - usually Nutrigrain or Weatbix
*Fruit or Fruit Juice - I am mad on squeezing fresh juice. My current pregnant favorite is Apple, Celery and Ginger.
*Toast with Vegemite.

Usually one day of the weekend I will cook up a *Mixed Grill* Breakie of Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Tomatoes and Baked Beans. We tend to have this at Brunch/Midday and nobody moves or eats till dinner time Razz

Hi Lexie!
You're right, there are lots of sugar based cereals in the store and lots of kids eat them. I don't know how these cereal manufacturers get away with describing a lot of them as a healthy breakfast.

I always make my own cereal. I put some grains through the grain grinder the last thing at night along with about the right amount of water for them to expand. The next morning I start the burner under it and it's ready in 5 to 10 minutes. I also grind coffee beans in the morning and have at least one pot of coffee. I do all my cooking from scratch or as close to it as possible. I grind wheat into flour to make bread, etc., but that's not the norm for around here. Come to think of it, that sort of thing probably isn't the norm anywhere. Oh, well. Who wants to be normal anyway? Razz
Mrs M!! A half cup of coffee??? How do you keep going on that? I'm with pupppy, More coffee!! Usually have a bagel sometime between getting up and noon, or yogurt. But have to save the last spoonful of yogurt for my kitty Charlie. If I eat cereal (usually for supper) I like to mix cheerios and special k. No sugar.
Lol, Chatter!!
Lexie, there are loads of no sugar cereals on the market here. There are so many both with and with no that I could not begin to count.

MG, I am not a real big coffee drinker. I used to drink a pot a day when I was younger, but sort have lost the taste for it, I guess. I do love yogurt too!

Poor Puppy, you are simply wired! LOL!
You know you're addicted to coffee when ..

  • You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
  • You sleep with your eyes open.
  • You have to watch videos in fast-forward.
  • You can take a picture of yourself from ten feet away without using the timer.
  • Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
  • You chew on other people's fingernails.
  • The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
  • People use you to blend their margaritas.
  • You don't sweat, you percolate.
  • You walk twenty miles on your treadmill before you realize it's not plugged in.
  • You forget to unwrap candy bars before eating them.
  • You've built a miniature city out of little plastic stirrers.
  • People get dizzy watching you.
  • Instant coffee takes too long.
  • you have a picture of your coffee mug on your coffee mug.
  • You make motion detectors explode.
  • You don't wait for the water to boil anymore.
  • Your nervous twitch registers on the Richter scale.
  • You help your dog chase its tail.
  • You soak your dentures in coffee overnight.
  • You answer the door before people knock.
  • You haven't blinked since the last lunar eclipse.
So they are getting their money out of the shipping instead of the cost? Heh, kinda clever really, if people fall for it. Ebay has certainly made some bucks off me this last month. But, I guess if it weren't for the exposure I wouldn't have sold as much for the price. So I guess it's fair. Wish the gallery photos were a little cheaper tho......really adds up! Roll Eyes
