I am having problems lately. I have a Canadian account with a US ship to address. Some sellers select "ship only to US" and when the bid is placed it is rejected.

Many are not aware they have been so restrictive and will remove this restriction when asked.

The question is how can I tell before I have lost? There does not seem to be a way to tell from the item description (some ship to US only will accept my bid)

I have resorted to placing a low bid to make sure the snipe will go through.

Is there any way for AS to TEST when a snipe is setup to see if the bidder is allowed.

(A thought just occured to me, would a test bid matching the current bid give some indication if the bidder is not allowed)

If you can't beat them join them?

Since I do have a US address, for the purposes of Ebay I am in the US. So I changed my address to the US.

I recall asking before and they could not do this for me but it worked fine.

However, it appears that many sellers are restricting sales to the US only without really being aware of it. I think this is something new that Ebay is doing.

I guess it is really a simple matter of US sellers not wanting to include anyone else in the world in their sales.

I have become a proxy American!
