Hi everyone!

This is actually my first time bidding on an item on eBay, and I'm planning to use AS (:

I researched and am aware of how the sniping system works, but I am just afraid that since it's my first time buying something off of eBay, the seller will block my bid. I understand that sellers can set "buyer preferences" limited to buyers who have good feedback, etc. Should I place a bid just to see if I am able to for this item? (Current bid is $102.50 so I will enter $105.00 just to see if the bid will go through). Placing a bid manually earlier on won't affect the AS system, right?

Much thanks!

I can't resist opening my fat mouth...

Since it's an item you really, REALLY want, don't use AS (or any other sniper service) to place your max bid. Do it manually to be sure your bid is placed. AS is very reliable, but every once in a while it will fail to bid. Use AS only for items that you can "shrug your shoulders" on if AS doesn't bid.

And while I'm yapping ... the only other reason to manually bid on an item would be to eliminate a "buy it now". Other than that, it's AS all the way.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming of Rick vs. R2 ...

Fully endorse with the following addendum:
... an item you really, REALLY want, AT ANY COST, ...
