I know this has been raised before by Junkman, but I think it's worth mentioning again. I saw an item on eBay with one bid, so put in a snipe for over $26. The auction was won for $10.75 and my snipe wasn't placed because it exceeded the BIN amount.

Trouble is - there was no BIN amount shown when I saw the item.

I've raised an issue with support but that won't get me the item back. Never seen this before and it's worrying.

AS says it's an eBay "feature" - it will always reject a bid that is higher than the BIN price even if a bid has been placed. However, given that eBay has changed the rules (on the USA site at least) which allows BIN prices to exist right up to the auction end in some cases, this is clearly a problem for snipers.

I am in the UK and was bidding on an item in the USA, and some of the categories have this new eBay faciity. It was initially only on the motoring section but has been extended to other categories now. So might be an idea to bear this in mind when placing a snipe given the seller can lower the BIN price after you've set up your snipe !!!!
