Those of you that have been on the forum a while will remember reoccurring discussions how the AS Instamail message could be toned down and improved. Several AS users turned OFF the InstaMail feature just because they DIDN'T LIKE the wording. Well it appears the powers that be at AS were listening!?! Here is the "AS sales" wording from an AS InstaMail I recently received. It is nearly identical to the wording forum members derived and recommended in those discussions!?!

"My winning bid was placed for me by AuctionSniper.com

auctions visit: <AS Link w/referral>"

Hooray to AS for listening & responding to users concerns & suggestions! Now, will users who said they would turn the InstMail feature ON with an altered "sales pitch" do so? Hmmmm....

BTW, how long has the note appeared on the AS home page about AS awarding 100(?!) free snipes for suggestions used to increase their customer base? Wow! That might be a lifetime supply for me!

I like the new idea. 100 FREE snipes? Hmmm, might last a couple of months for me! I sent them about a half-dozen ideas, but I haven't heard anything. But then again, my luck is so lousy (except when sniping) that I could be the only one to submit ideas and I couldn't win! The only thing I haven't figured out, is how will we know if we were the first to make the suggestion and when we would see the free snipes?

I was wondering how everyone got hooked up with AS.

I think I must have clicked on an About Me page, for some reason, which I rarely do, and seen a link there promoting AS, and signed up. So, someone here can thank me for their 3 free snipes, and I can thank that someone for hundreds of successful snipes. Win-win.

Thanks, my sponsor, whoever you are! Big Grin

Actually, if you will look in your preferences under instamail, you will see that now you have the option of creating your own message!
I believe there was always the option of adding a customized/personalized segment to the Instmail message. It was the "AS sales pitch" that one DIDN'T have control of that turned off people in the past.

RE: How we found AS? LOL! I don't remember either!

Since the Instamail feature targets exclusively ebay sellers & I knew about AS BEFORE I started selling, I'm quite sure it wasn't Instamail that led me to AS.

It might have been from an AuctionSniper link in an ebay listing BEFORE ebay started the practice of delisting such listings.
I remember mine: It was on the Web Page of a auction I won. I didn't acknowledge them as the source as they did a lousy packing job on what they sent. so AS didn't give them any free snipes. My free snipes made me a regular though. I have been saving big on every Snipe. I pointed out
a number of areas where AS should be registering and c/r their graphics but they haven't so they will learn the hard way which most business do. Corp. ID was my last job at AT&T. That was fun.
