hr,

Different servers are used to place the snipes than for My Snipes page. Chances are, and based on SVB's post quoted below, your snipe will get placed. But, that's not certain. So, if you feel lucky, leave it to AS. If you don't feel lucky, place a manual bid (you'll probably still get charged a snipe fee if you win).

My "My Snipes" page is still down.

Agreed - if the auction price isn't too big the AS fee won't add too much to your cost - and it would be well worthwhile if it is an item you want...

Just checked the link - I'm down again at 8:20pm here (7 hours ahead of Spain - 1:20pm there?)

I just sent an email to support and this is what I got back,

"Hello,

I am sorry but we were experiencing some hardware related technical difficulties that have caused the Auction Sniper website and services to be unavailable at that time. However, Auction Sniper web servers are back online, so the Auction Sniper website should be fully accessible once again. We apologize for any inconveniences these circumstances have caused, and everyone's patience with regard to this matter has been greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you to re-login to Auction Sniper and do let me know if the problem persists.

Sincerely,
Auction Sniper Support"

It still does not work for me. My Mac and my Iphone say the site is not responding.
I'm back in now - boy was that a long wait. I hadn't kept track of what I was sniping so couldn't put in a manual bid.

However, all's OK now and, in future, I'll make sure I'm watching all my snipe items in eBay so I don't need to remember what they are (I'm a bit of a snipe-aholic).

Doesn't help, of course, if I should want to cancel one of them !

Thanks for all the replies guys.
HR,

A ham-handed way to STOP a snipe from going thru if you don't have access to AS website: Go to eBay website and change your eBay password! Then AS will have your old incorrect password and not be able to sign on to place the snipe. Of course, if you have 1 out of 5 snipes you want to stop and the rest go thru, this method will stop ALL of the snipes.

Site is still unavailable to me at 11:45 am EDT USA.
Thanks jabbergah. I know about the password changing but it's not unusual for me to have snipes quite close together. Then I have to stay home to quickly change the password back again. Still means I need to watch all the snipes in eBay because, given I can't always remember what I'm sniping, I'm pretty sure I won't remember when !!
Hi Community -

Sorry about the outage yesterday; no placed snipes were in danger but it did hamper the ability for some to place new snipes.

This was an accidental outage that did not affect everyone, just the unlucky ones who hit the servers that were pointing to the wrong place.

If you were one of the unlucky, our apologies. As soon as Skynet takes over, human errors like these, among other things, should be a thing of the past.

Thanks!
Cara
