Ok, I know I should know this, but I can't seem to get it right. I use freepicturehosting.com and I want to put the pics on ebay for my auctions. If I just copy the link and post it,all I get is the link and not the pictures. What do I have to put in front of it, or do different?
Eh, does this make any sense at all? Roll Eyes heh

MG (If I may be so familiar!)

To link to an image from an ebay page the html is always:

<IMG SRC="http://www.nameofwebsite.com/nameofdirectory/picturename.jpg">

Don't leave out:
< at start and > at end
" at start of address and at end "
/forwards slash after the .com and directory name.

The name of the web site can be any case, even capitals, but the Directory and the Picture name are case sensitive.

MyPicture.jpg will not show anything if the name of your photo is mypicture.jpg

Another trap for the unwary is that different editing programs call the saved photo .jpg & .jpeg
Entering myphoto.jpg if your name is actually myphoto.jpeg will cause it not to show.

However the trick is to cut and paste your full address into the following:

<IMG SRC="XXXXXXX">

Its as easy as that!
I ask because my sister in law is a long time auction buyer and she has sheds full of stuff! Last time I was there I saw a box of old cameras. If there is something you are looking for I can ask her if she has any. She is usually quite low with her prices.
I'm also looking for a second mavica fd75 for my own use.
I let you into a secret, I have caught this dreadful disease - acute ebayitis - each time I go near a computer, my fingers lock on the keyboard and I find I have bought another camera!

The idea started off simply to collect a selection to write about them for my camera web site, but like all alchoholics and gamblers, I find myself trying to avoid the downward path to the gutter!

Our friends commiserate with my wife and shake their head when they see my daughter's old wardrobe bulging with cameras.(the exact number is a state secret!) I tell them they are an "investment" but the fixed grins on their faces tell a different story!

So is it economic ruin or future prosperity? The thin line between madness and sanity is always so.

If I am to avoid an expensive divorce I think I had better decline your kind offer - mind you if one is labelled "Leica", I'll have it for $5 cash!

Paul

NB. Like the rest of the world, I blame the Americans for my demise! In the 1950s when the UK was starved of German quality cameras (60% sales tax believe it or not up to 1958) the US was prosperous and bought them in shed loads. Now these same Americans are passing away, your house clearers are putting them up for sale with no reserve and I just can't resist a bargain!
