Seems I'm about to be inaccurately charged for AS services I didn't use.

I say this because I am receiving "You Won" notices for auctions I had to bid on manually, without the assistance of AS!?!?

A few weeks ago eBay updated their protocol to access their mature/adult oriented area.

Rendering AS unusable in those categories.

For about a week I had to bid on items in those areas, manually.

The items I won in this manner DID not appear in my AS Win page... But now (almost two weeks later) I'm receiving notices from AS that I won these items as if I won them via the AS system.

(Even though they don't appear in my AS "Wins" page.)

Can I expect to be charged for these wins???? I will be going over my next billing VERY CAREFULLY. I will provide a couple of items numbers that I was notified of, to support if requested.

(I deleted a bunch of other notifications after a received a mass amount of them after AS adjusted their protocol to comply with eBay's.)

I guess that if AS sniped then AS charges you. Even if you bid manually to win.
That is correct. We aren't a backup service, we're a sniping service. If we snipe and you manually bid we still charge you. It takes the exact resources on our end in either case.

Adult sniping was fixed around October 9th. Because there were problems which might have led to you bidding both ways I'm sure we can work something out with you on those snipes were you weren't sure we were sniping again. But in general we'll charge you for any item we snipe and you end up winning reguardless of whether it's a win from your manual snipe/bid or ours.
Seejay,

I reviewed my bill and had two on there that I think were both ebay manually placed but were in for snipes. I filed a support case as it is in the time frame that none of my others were going through. It may be that they were able to place snipes on itmes that we had placed a manual ebay bid on in which case we would owe them for the snipes. I placed mine manually in expectation of the snipe not working

So which of your bids won the items?
(The Manual or the Snipe)

Obviously if your snipe won the items, did you'd a "You Won" email from AS and it would appear in your Wins page.

If your manually bid won did you rcv a "Didn't Win Report" (explaining you were outbid by yourself) Did you receive a "You Won"?

Either way, did the items appear in the WINS page?

Again:

The AS system was not working with
eBay's MA areas, in a manner that AS would not/could not find the items. SO there is NO WAY I could ever establish a snipe

There are some common sense questions that you need to consider (at least I do) when you receive YOU WON notifications for items that...

1. You could not establish a snipe on.

and

2.Don't appear in your WINS page.

Questions that make you go Hmmmm.

Besides, I would NEVER use the AS system as a 'Backup' (working or not). There is nothing anywhere on eBay that I want to win THAT BAD!
Seejay,

I had placed the snipes, then placed manual bids, AS sent me a you won notice bout 5 days after the close along with about 20 others that were in the "unknown" state. I surmissed that AS may have been able to place the snipe because I had a bid in place. I reported it to support and they say they placed the snipes. I think that they probally sent the snipes but I wonder if they got thru, either way for 50 cents is wasn't worth pursuing any further from my end
