When I add a snipe, do I also have to enter an actual bid on the item on ebay, or is adding an item to snipe Auction Sniper all I have to do?

No, you don't want to also bid on Ebay ! Think of your snipe as a last minute, one time placed proxy bid. It will be sent to Ebay at the last possible moment and Ebay will use the portion you have entered (if it is high enough) to win. Just always remember to bid the max you want to pay. To also bid on Ebay would defeat the purpose of surprise and avoiding a bidding war!

You might want to check out the InstaMail option if you haven't already, unless you want the buyer to get an email telling them you used a sniping service.

"My Snipes" (top of page), then "Modify Account", then roll down to "InstaMail". The default will send an email to seller if you win the auction.
