Won this auction (with Auction Sniper of course)3080049917 and I understand all the terms that are in it about WYSIWYG, as is, no returns and that I was taking a gamble. Thankfully I'm not out a fortune, about all I can do now is leave some type of feedback. Here's the deal:
The cable modem arrived this week. Works only through the USB port, not the Ethernet connection as desired. Every conceivable test has been done by me and the cable company to get the thing running. My NIC and cable aren't the problem.
The auction does state that some Toshiba diagnostics and install software is included, though this is not shown in the WYSIWYG photo. Toshiba states this software is on a CD. It is not downloadable and obtainable only by buying another modem. It could possibly help me get the thing running if I had what was listed in the auction. As it is, I have a Toshiba paperweight.
I contacted the seller yesterday & asked nicely if any type of software was to be included and explained my problem. Silence. Today I had a friend use their ebay account to ask the seller about one of his other auctions, he responded immediately.
I don't expect the seller to do much as he has the terms in his favor which leave me no option. I understood that when I bid. I could gripe about the software but why bother.
He left me positive feedback when I paid. I'm not looking for revenge, but what type of feedback would you leave this seller?
