I don't work for AS but I do have an imagination so here goes.
1. AS have to realise that there is a problem - do they test continually or do they wait for users to report it?
2. They have to analyse the problem and come up with a solution
3. They have to write the code
4. They have to test it
5. They may have to fine tune and test again
6. They have to roll out the fix

or

1. They press the magic [FIX THE PROBLEM] button which is a lot quicker but way less realistic.

I'll let you decide which of these two options took 12 hours...
