What's The Advantage?

Hello,
I would like to know what the advantage is of sniping with AuctionSniper as opposed to proxy bidding with Ebay directly?
I recently been having problems with sniping particularly my snipes not even showing up on the auctions history's and wondered if I may at least have HAD a chance in winning these auctions if I had just proxy bidded directly on the auction itself? At least my bid would have shown up that it had been placed! I had checked up on all the auctions history that I had lost and it shows that my winning snipe could and SHOULD have been easily placed BEFORE the winning bid, even IF my snipe would not have won.
As is stands now, there is no way, no proof to tell whether my snipes were actually placed.
Please advise
