I have a few questions re your flower/weed.
Have you ever dug one up to see if it's a bulb?
Is the stem round, triangular or square?
Does it have any smell?
Is it fuzzy/hairy or sticky (primarily on the stem?)
Do you know if what (I believe) you are calling the flower is the flower or is it a seed pod?
Is the reddish looking head hard?
In the picture it looks like another on is next to it, on the left, with a white head, and another head on the longer stem with a yellow head.
It's the first day of summer here. How about there, early spring maybe?
