Reply to "Unappreciated bidder"

From ebay's faq:
What is shill bidding?
Shill bidding is the deliberate placing of bids to artificially raise the price of an item and is not allowed. To avoid the appearance of being involved in this activity, family members, friends, and individuals living together, working together or sharing a computer should not bid on each other's items.

"Encouraging" someone to bid is not the same thing as "the deliberate placing of bids to artificially raise the price...". I doubt that ebay would mind a seller getting a hirer price from a legitimate buyer. And shills try to avoid being top bidder - it sort of defeats their purpose? Razz

Also, you might note that my "rewards" only applied should the 2nd bidder "win" a future auction. Wink

P.S. Again, congratulations on your win described in your other post.
