Wait... Were you watching the bidding at AS, or eBay. At AS the prices and number of bids are not updated on a refresh, only the times. You have to hit the 'Update Price' button for price and bids update... and you can only do that once every 5 minutes.

Even at eBay you can't use the search results screen, you must load the actual auction.

If you want to watch the auction close you must do that at eBay.
