Reply to "So what's wrong with my searches?"

I don't use AS search capability but from what I understand the search is conducted only among US items at this time. Others have pointed out that there are other eBay auction sites they'd like to search but I haven't seen a reply from AS support on that. You could check the Forum archives under "search" at the top of this page since I may have missed something, though.
