So how do I enter in my highest bid?

I'm brand new here. I've got 2 items in my snipe folder that I guess got there from my ebay watch list.
Now how and where do I enter in the amount I want AS to bid? Do I put those item numbers into the "Add a New Snipe" box?
Is 8 seconds enough time for 7PM on Sunday?
