Ready only means your bid is ready to be placed.

I'm afraid AS isn't very good at keeping prices up to date. They update prices and bids from time to time, but they are not dependable enough to count on during the auction. To get current prices, you must click the 'update prices' button on your My Snipes page.

Best to watch and monitor auction close at eBay.

You did enter your real, true, maximum max didn't you? Remember you can't modify or cancel a bid in the last 2-3 minutes of an auction.
