Since AS has been placing redundant bids for a long time, I would assume that something has recently happened on ebay's end that prevents ebay from knowing about this. Maybe it's the amount of activity.

Also, I noticed that the "description" searches are near real time. It use to be that the description search was behind the title search by several hours. But, ebay seems to be indexing new auctions as they are entered, instead of doing them in a batch.
