The longer away the closing date is, the less frequent this information is updated. As the auction closing gets closer, AS updates this information more frequently. But if you're going to depend on the high bid amount from "My Snipes", it's best to use "Update items info".

<< - NO-NO-NO WARNING-WARNING-WARNING (sorry, I'm in a dramatic mood today). Back to your question: AS will place only one snipe for you, and that's the amount you specify. It's no different then you placing a proxy bid - it's just that AS does it a few seconds before the close of the auction. If it tried to just place incremental bids, someone might come in at the last couple of seconds and snipe over you. AS wouldn't have the time to respond. YOU'VE GOT ONE SHOT (or in this case, snipe) - SO MAKE IT YOUR BEST.
