Whoa, dying the oleo is way beyond my memory. If I'm not mistaken, oleo was something that came out during WWII, right? Oleo is a shortened version of the full name, Oleo margarine. I guess oleo became the kleenex name for butter replacements back in the 40's and 50's. You don't hear it much anymore. My Mom called all margarines oleo right up until she died in '92.
