Except for the timing, placing a bid through AS is exactly like placing a bid directly at eBay. AS signs in just as you would, and bids for you.

eBay doesn't get its last licks, the highest bidder does. Who ever has the highest bid wins, no matter when the bid is placed. You lost to a bid placed about 26 hours BEFORE yours. (see table above).

Using AS lets you bid in the last few seconds, so that another bidder does not have time to think and reconsider their max.
