“To have won”? No way of knowing. That would be controlled by the top bidder’s proxy bid. For ebay to “accept” the bid, it had to be the amount AS specified in their “outbid alert email”.

Example #1: Top bidder’s proxy bid (typically an unknown amount) + 1 ebay increment (one can sometimes win by being + $.01 but don’t go down that path until you see one – trust me).

Example #2: Bid $1,000,000.01 (odd bid amounts are recommended).
