Wow Mrs.M, you must not have commonwealth edison there. Or Con-ed as we call it. My niece lost her computer, fridge, phones, microwave and I forget what else because the transformer outside her house spiked. It was "supposed" to have a surge protector but it didn't work. Con-ed said "sorry, we don't cover that". Crazy!!
