While we do mitigate most problems with eBay and slowness this particular problem is one we'd never seen, and so it wasn't adjusted for by us. We're making some changes to our bid servers to do what we can. It's a real ugly one though.
Even still less than 1 in 350 snipes was affected on Wednesday for example. If this happened to you I appologize. Usually in the past when this starts happening it's like this for about a month, then eBay gets more servers or something and the problems go away for 3-4 months.
