My snipe wasn't placed -- lost auction!!!

What's going on? I've had this item in a bidgroup for quite along time now and finally, my high bid should have been placed on this auction that just closed (4579251387). This also happened last month, but since it was near midnight/1 am I thought it might not have placed due to maintenance etc. A bit choked... please advise.
