Reply to "minimum bid increments - when they don't matter"

Instead of bidding an odd amount of dollars and cents, e.g., $24.45, I set my bid in round dollars one or two bid increments above the amount I think it'll take to win. That amount is based on the current high bidder's profile as determined from his past bidding record. If 45 cents doesn't amount to one bid increment over the high bid, it's not going to be worth anything in a last-second snipe attempt. And don't think other bidders don't use a similar technique, either. They do. Cool
