R2

R2 - the audiophools cause us endless amusement with their oxygen-free speaker cable and bog-standard valves made on a Friday morning with yellow writing. Snake oil is alive and well!
Some vinyl discs are better inasmuch as the actual recordings were better, and have not yet been redone on CD.
Top-end hifi stuff has always used valves - some of it is the one remaining thing that we can manufacture here! There is really no difference in amplifying a small signal to drive a speaker with whatever means.
The main reason for valves being visible is for cooling - not for the valves, but other components.
