No, there's no joke about it. I found out about the banning and removal of "controversial" books in one of my classes. The professor said that often the people who are opposing a book haven't even read the book they're objecting to. They've only heard about it. It's totally insane and I've been choosing my reading material from off that list for some months now. (BINed and sniped a few off eBay, too!

) It's scary to think about that sort of censorship. Fortunately, what's banned or removed in one place or school district might still be found in another. Since you're into the classics, I thought you'd be interested in this.
