ah, at the risk of sounding pedantic, I believe you in fact mean to say "I really could NOT care less". When you say "I really could care less", it means your level of caring is somewhere above zero--perhaps not terribly concerned in any case, but there is a level of caring that is less than your level of caring. Thus, you are not wholly indifferent. Whereas, when one says, "I really could NOT care less", it means, flat-out, one doesn't care at all; one doesn't care an iota or rat's buttocks; there is absolutely no level of caring below one's level of caring.
