Buy things that don't remotely resemble the photographs
Own things you have never ever heard of, wanted or seen before
Own more defunct goods than working ones
Pack the house full of collectables and get rid of the wife!
All the above is based on true life experience (except the bit about the Wife - though on second thoughts, I could get 2000 more magazines in the Master Bedroom if she left!)
