Don't get me wrong ... I love my dog, but I try to skip the puppy/kitten stage with pets ... I adopt the older ones to avoid 'accidents' and chewed shoes and ripped furniture and . . .

My current *child* (he's 5) still thinks shoes are fair game, and sometimes I come home to find entire couch cushions in shreds! One day he ate the corner of his bed (yes, he has a full size bed) chewed it good and had the springs poking out everywhere
