I don't think you need to be worried. This happens to me all the time, and I've been buying on eBay for a few years.

What looks like happened is pretty common. A bidder - in this case "hexdef6" nibbled away at the current bid until they were the high bidder. In doing this, they kept increasing the current price.
Then, "guestroomrecords" swooped in with their snipe 1 minute before the auction with an even higher bid.
Now, because of their bid, the current price is really up there.
Along comes yourself, crafty one that you are, and SNIPE the auction with the high bid!!

Looks to me like it was just a very competitive auction that had a lot of aggresive bidding.
You just happened to come out on top!
