thanks for a quick reply! i'm not sure i understand though. say that with 10 seconds to go til the end, the highest bid is £1000, so does AS just bid my maximum bid (£1200, in an attempt to win it, or would it just bid the next increment(which i think goes up by £20)after all, i'm trying to get it as cheap as possible!

one other thing, what's a proxy bid? i'm new to this ebaying lark!
