You shouldn't see your bid at eBay till the number of seconds before auction end you entered. (default is 5 seconds). AS will not place your bid till then.

Except for the timing, bidding at AS is just like bidding at eBay. Your bid could show at eBay and still not win, as you could be 'proxy' outbid. (someone elses max is greater than yours).

You can edit amount, or seconds lead time up untill 2-3 minutes before auction end. After that your bid is 'waiting in line' and can't be changed or canceled.
