High bidder, but beaten by bid increment

Ever been willing to pay more than the high bidder but been losing because of your snipe being lower than the next bid increment? I,ve lost a few that way. For the sake of <$1. If I'd been bidding manually, I'd probably have gone a couple of bucks more! And WON!!
Is there any way to add a function to put in a second slightly higher bid if this happens? Sometimes in the last few seconds the winning bid becomes, say, 37c less than your maximum. The next bid increment is $1. Adding an extra 63c to your maximum is not much, especially if it results in winning your valued item.

Thoughts??
