Our fuel prices shot up last week to about £1 for petrol, now have gone back down to about 91p as they were about 2 months ago.

Is diesel cheaper than petrol in USA?
It is generally much cheaper in Europe.
Not here, though, although more mpg and cheaper servicing do mean that I would only have an 'oil burner' for a 'modern' car - never a petrol one. 55mpg is not to be sneezed at!
