Same topic, different storm! It seems that hurricane Rita is shaping up to be just as nasty if not worse than Katrina. The path & pattern of Rita is remarkably similar to Katrina. If appears landfall will be further to the west in Texas. It is a sad irony that several New Orleans refugees that were evacuated to TX may need to AGAIN flee a storm!? They're probably getting a complex of some type!
Gas prices in central PA spiked to about $3.199/gal in the aftermath of Katrina. They have slowly sagged to about $2.659 as of today, but I noticed some outlets have raised prices today -- jitters about the damage Rita could do to the refineries & drilling rigs in the TX area presumably. Here we go again?!?
Also, after the poor preparation/response in New Orleans, there seems to be a much more serious evacuation/preparation for Rita.
