I prefer those that make silent donations. It always bugs me when they brag about their donations. But, since one never knows who made the silent donations, one never knows whom to prefer. Another advantage to making anonymous donations is that you don’t get on every donation mailing/email/telephone list. So, how much did you donate?

Regarding people first, pets second – there was a survey pertaining to which would someone save first, a drowning pet or a drowning stranger. As I remember it, if someone’s pet is in the water with you and you’re a stranger, you better get acquainted with the pet owner in a real hurry.
