It's not the same as filet mignon? Filet Mignon is the rounded tender side of a T-Bone (or Porterhouse) steak (the other side is a New York cut). Very tender and tasty. Sirloin is a less marbled, tougher cut (well, unless you get a 'prime' one - then it's pretty good). I like both, but wrap a little bacon around a filet mignon, sear it and serve it room temp and I'll be in hog (cow?) heaven Smile
