They aren't ducks, but we have the big geese that fly over our house on the way to the golf course lake. A couple of years ago a pair stopped when they saw our pool. I saw them circle back and swoop in to land on the yard just below the pool. It's an above ground pool and they landed on the lower side. Had they landed on the opposite side they would have been at water level. Anyway....they wondered around looking for how to get up into the water. They walked back and forth, and across the street and back, and out into the cornfield and back and stood and looked at it. This went on for about 3 hours! Finally they settled in the cornfield. They were gone the next morning. Guess I was glad they didn't get in the pool, but felt sorry for them. They looked beautiful among my flowers.
