I got a kick out of the post about turning on a dime - I have a farm but also a little
apartment in town for when the snow gets over
six feet. The apartment is in a former 200
year old Opera House and Grange Hall. It's "haunted" with several of the old
vaudeville troopers who used to grace the stage.
There are three apartments but the other two never stay rented for more than a month.--anyway, I got up one morning and went in the kitchen to make coffee. I was looking at the floor so I wouldn't trip -
"A Good Thing" as Martha would say - because
The kitchen floor was gone - fallen into the basement which I did not know existed. There is a fresh water spring under the building and the giant timbers just rotted away. In the far corner my new Kitchen Aid Mixer I had just sniped was resting on seven layers of linoleum still clinging to the wall. My gostly friends had saved it from the creek below. So turning on a dime - it was time for a vacation - I grabbed a few things and in an hour I was on the road...when broke I could come home.. to open the bills...
Thanks for the "Welcomes"
