That's a risk that is inherent with sniping, whether via a sniping service or placing the snipe manually. If you want to have 100% assurance that your bid is placed, don’t snipe. Although, not sniping means a risk of encouraging a bidding war or nibbling. But, if you’ve got money to burn, and don’t care about cost, then place your bid via ebay well in advance of the auction end.
