It happens, jabber, and when it does,it is exciting! I sold something once that I expected to go for $2000. It flew up to $6000.! I was ONE happy camper!

Also, I agree...end it early for what reason??

Are your bidders established? If not, you might want to get their ID rundown while the auction is running. Once it has ended, you only have access to the winner...its nice to have the backup's info on hand just in case.
