eBay considering their own sniping service!

This morning I received email from "eBay Research" with the title "eBay Survey: your feedback is important". The survey was about 25 questions, and focused entirely on sniping! It asked questions such as:

Have you ever used sniping?
Do you feel sniping is fair?
Does sniping take away from the "fun" of eBay?
If you ever lost an auction to a sniper, how did that make you feel?
Would you use a sniping service if eBay offered one for free? For a fee?

At first I thought the survey would be getting my feelings about whether or not sniping should be allowed, but the latter half made it apparent that eBay is thinking of having their own sniping service.
